So write a journal ?? Okay, since I probably won't be writing that many I will give you a bit of background information.
I have always been interested in art, something my parents encouraged and recognised early. My dad got some art lessons for me when I was about 9. I first started with watercolours with a lady called Dorothy Peck, every Saturday for about an hour or so. Eventually I wanted to try more styles of art, so Dorothy recommended a friend of hers, Sue Gorringe. For a while I was receiving tuition under both, until Dorothy moved away.
Sue's lessons where a lot longer then Dorothy's, sometimes up to 3 hours every Saturday. Through Sue, I was able to try my hands at acrylics, oils, pastels, sculpture, wood carving and clay modelling, plus a lot more. I continued to see Sue up until just after I finished high school.
After I left school, I went onto study graphic design at TAFE. I have completed Desktop Publishing Cert II, Pre-Press Design Cert II, Design Fundamentals Cert III, and Graphic Design Foundation Cert IV. I eventually was lucky enough to get a job in graphic design, where I worked for 3 years until the business closed down. After about 4-5 months of being unemployed and thinking I was not going to be able to get another job in design, I found another job and have been working there ever since.
I've always just sat and drawn, but for a while I found that my motivation decreased. But, this is something I have rediscovered over the last 3 years or so. Also venturing into some photography, something I yet have no confidence with! My main tools of the trade are felt tip pens, but I also love painting with acrylics.
Well that's about all, if you ever need to know anything else just ask me.
